The policy change fee applies anytime a change is made to your policy. This includes changing your vehicle, amending your mileage, changing your cover type, updating your personal details and any other changes to your policy. It can also include when we need to make a change to your policy, such as reducing your No Claims Discount if we are unable to validate what you told us.
How much is the fee?
Please note, effective from 16th June 2025, a £27 admin fee will apply if changes are made through our contact centre, however a reduced fee of £15 will apply if the changes are made online.
If your policy began prior to 16th June 2025, you will not be affected by this change until your next renewal.

Why do you charge this fee?
This fee covers the admin costs involved when one of our customer service agents process a change. However, many policy changes can be made using your online Darwin account which is the most convenient and cost effective way of making a change. The following changes can all be made via the online portal:
- Personal and contact details
- Amend your occupation
- Change your address
- Add a driver to your policy including claims and convictions
- Amend an additional driver’s details
- Amend your insurance cover and usage of your vehicle
- Change your vehicle
- Change your password
