The policy change fee applies anytime a change is made to your policy offline, which is any changes which you do not make yourself via the self serve portal. This includes changing your vehicle, amending your mileage, changing your cover type, updating your personal details and any other changes to your policy.
How much is the fee?
The fee is £25. However, if you make changes using your online account, there is no charge.
Why do you charge this fee?
This fee covers the admin costs involved when one of our customer service agents process a change over the phone. However, many policy changes can be made using your online Darwin account, and any changes made through this won’t incur the fee. The following changes can all be made via the online portal:
- Personal and contact details
- Amend your occupation
- Change your address
- Add a driver to your policy including claims and convictions
- Amend an additional driver’s details
- Amend your insurance cover and usage of your vehicle
- Change your vehicle
- Change your password
